Day 9 of the Transitional Curriculum for the 2025–26 Batch

As part of the Transitional Curriculum for the 2025–26 batch, Day 9 featured an interactive and informative session by Dr. Veeracholan, Medical Officer, Urban Health Centre, Greater Chennai Corporation.

During the session, Dr. Veeracholan addressed the students on the role of primary healthcare, public health services, and the responsibilities of medical professionals in urban health settings. The talk provided valuable insights into community healthcare delivery, preventive medicine, and the importance of public health initiatives in improving population health.

The session was well received by the students, who actively participated and benefited from the practical perspectives shared. The program contributed meaningfully to the objectives of the Transitional Curriculum and helped orient the students towards a community-focused approach to healthcare.

Day 8 of the Transitional Curriculum for the 2025–26 Batch

As part of the Transitional Curriculum for the 2025–26 batch, Day 8 was conducted on 12th December 2025, featuring an inspirational talk by Dr. Maran, Professor and Director, Sri Sairam Institute of Management Studies.

The session aimed at motivating the students and providing valuable insights into personal growth, professional responsibility, and goal-oriented learning. The talk inspired the newly admitted students to develop a positive mind
set and a strong sense of purpose as they begin their academic journey.

In addition, Mr. Karl Marx conducted a Basic Life Support (BLS) training session for the students. The hands-on training equipped the students with essential life-saving skills and knowledge to respond effectively during medical emergencies, thereby enhancing their practical competence and preparedness.

The sessions were highly engaging and beneficial, contributing significantly to the objectives of the Transitional Curriculum and the holistic development of the students.

Day 6 of the Transitional Curriculum for the 2025–26 Batch

As part of the Transitional Curriculum for the 2025–26 batch, Day 6 was conducted on 10th December 2025, featuring a special session on Diet by Dr. M. K. Seeni, Government Analyst and Deputy Director (i/c), State Drugs Testing Laboratory.

The session highlighted the significance of diet in health maintenance and disease prevention, with emphasis on scientific dietary principles and their application in clinical practice. Dr. M. K. Seeni shared valuable insights on nutrition, food quality, and regulatory perspectives related to diet and drugs, enriching the academic exposure of the students.

The session was interactive and informative, and the students actively participated, gaining practical knowledge that supported the objectives of the Transitional Curriculum and contributed to their holistic professional development.

Special Medical Camp at Little Drops Home, Somangalam

As part of its commitment to community service and social responsibility, Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College & Research Centre, through its hospital wing, successfully conducted a Special Medical Camp at Little Drops Home, Somangalam, on 10th December 2025.
The medical camp was organized with the objective of providing essential healthcare services to the residents of the home. The medical team offered general health check-ups, clinical evaluation, and necessary medical consultation, emphasizing preventive healthcare and early detection of common health issues. Health awareness and lifestyle guidance were also provided to promote overall well-being. The beneficiaries actively participated in the camp and expressed their gratitude for the care and attention received. The management and caretakers of Little Drops Home appreciated the initiative taken by Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College & Research Centre in extending quality healthcare services to the community. The camp reflected the institution’s dedication towards compassionate service, social accountability, and holistic healthcare outreach.

AIDS Awareness Rally – 16/12/2025

To mark World AIDS Day, an awareness rally was conducted under the leadership of Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College. The rally was organized with the participation of students and staff to create awareness about HIV/AIDS prevention and public health responsibility.

The rally was flagged off on the college campus, with students carrying placards and banners emphasizing awareness, prevention, and social responsibility. Teaching faculty members and administrative staff also took part in the programme and encouraged students throughout the rally.

Through this rally, awareness was created among the public about the causes of AIDS, preventive measures, and the importance of avoiding discrimination against affected individuals. The participants highlighted the need for early testing, proper treatment, and social awareness.

Around 300 students actively participated in the rally and successfully conveyed the message of health awareness and social responsibility to the community.

Sushruta Pradharshani – Ayurvedic Surgical Expo (08 & 09 December 2025)

The Department of Shalya Tantra successfully organized the Sushruta Pradharshani – Ayurvedic Surgical Expo on 8th and 9th December 2025 at the Yoga Hall, as part of Dheera 2K21 academic initiatives.

The expo was inaugurated by Dr. M. Suresh Kumar, General & Laparoscopic Surgeon, who motivated and inspired the students with his encouraging words and best wishes. His presence added immense value to the event, highlighting the relevance of surgical principles across traditional and modern medical systems.

The Pradharshani showcased classical Ayurvedic surgical concepts, instruments, models, and demonstrations, providing students with hands-on exposure to fundamental surgical understanding. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from Siddha and Homoeopathy students, promoting interdisciplinary learning and enriching the academic experience.

The two-day exhibition served as an excellent platform for students to deepen their knowledge of Sushruta’s contributions to surgery and appreciate the scientific foundation of Ayurvedic Shalya Tantra.

Day 5 of the Transitional Curriculum for the 2025–2026 Batch – 09/12/2025

On 9th December 2025, Day 5 of the Transitional Curriculum for the 2025–2026 Batch was held with a special focus on clinical orientation.

The highlight of the day was an expert session delivered by Dr. Sivakumar from Chennai Heritage Hospital. The guest lecture provided valuable insights into practical clinical approaches, patient handling, and the relevance of Ayurveda in modern healthcare settings.

Students benefitted from the interactive discussion, gaining clarity on clinical pathways, professional expectations, and the importance of disciplined learning during their foundational years.

Day 4 of the Transitional Curriculum for the 2025–2026 Batch – 08/12/2025

On 8th December 2025, our institution conducted Day 4 of the Transitional Curriculum for the 2025–2026 Batch, offering students an engaging blend of experiential learning and motivational interaction.

As part of the day’s programme, students were taken on a guided visit to the Herbal Garden, where they were introduced to a variety of medicinal plants, their identification features, and their classical and therapeutic uses. This provided hands-on exposure to core botanical knowledge essential for early Ayurvedic training.

The batch also visited the Incubation Centre, gaining an overview of innovation opportunities, research support systems, and entrepreneurial pathways available within the institution.

Additionally, a special interactive session was conducted by a distinguished alumna/alumnus of our college, who shared valuable insights on professional growth, academic discipline, and the diverse career avenues in Ayurveda. The session was well received and served as a motivational highlight for the students.

Day 4 successfully combined academic orientation, field-based learning, and alumni inspiration to further strengthen the foundation for the new batch.

Day 3 of the Transitional Curriculum for the 2025–2026 Batch – 06/12/2025

On 6th December 2025, Day 3 of the Transitional Curriculum for the 2025–2026 Batch was successfully conducted. The day’s sessions were handled by the Department of Samhita & Siddhanta, providing the students with a foundational understanding of classical Ayurvedic principles, textual orientation, and the importance of Samhita studies in shaping clinical knowledge.

In addition to this, students also participated in a session on the Basics of Yoga, where they were introduced to fundamental concepts, simple practices, and the role of yoga in maintaining physical and mental well-being. The session emphasized the integration of yoga with Ayurveda for holistic health.

The combined academic and practical exposure helped students develop a deeper appreciation for traditional knowledge systems and supported their gradual transition into formal Ayurvedic education.

Day 2 of the Transitional Curriculum for the 2025–2026 Batch – 05/12/2025

On 5th December 2025, our institution conducted Day 2 of the Transitional Curriculum for the 2025–2026 Batch, continuing the structured orientation designed to help new students integrate smoothly into academic life.

The day featured several key activities that enriched the learning experience:

Interactive sessions by senior-most faculty members, offering valuable academic guidance, motivational insights, and an introduction to core Ayurvedic principles.

Guidelines and orientation from the Office, helping students understand institutional procedures, academic regulations, Scholarships and support services.

A visit to the Central Library, where students were introduced to available resources, reference materials, digital access systems, and best practices for academic research.

These sessions collectively aimed to strengthen foundational understanding, foster discipline, and familiarize the batch with the academic ecosystem of the institution.
