As part of the 11th Ayurveda Day Celebration, themed “Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow,” Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College & Research Centre organised a special programme on 22 September 2026 at 9:30 AM at VRR Hall.

The programme was graced by Rtn. Ganapathy Suresh, District Governor Elect, Rotary District 3233, as the Chief Guest. The programme was conducted in the presence of Dr. Vanitha R. Muralikumar, Director, and Dr. P. A. Sudhir, Principal, Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College & Research Centre.

The event brought together students, faculty members and alumni to celebrate Ayurveda and recognise contributions towards its academic and professional development.

As part of the programme, the institution honoured two distinguished alumni, Dr. Babin Raj and Dr. Megalai, in recognition of their valuable contributions and inputs in the field of Ayurveda. The felicitation acknowledged their continued association with the institution and their contribution towards the advancement of Ayurveda.

The programme also included the distribution of prizes to students who secured the first, second and third positions in the Paper and Poster Presentation competitions conducted as part of the 11th Ayurveda Day celebrations. The students were felicitated for their academic efforts, research-oriented presentations and active participation.

As part of the 11th Ayurveda Day Celebration, themed “Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow,” Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College & Research Centre organised a talk on “Ayurvedic Preventive Cardiology” on 21.09.2026 at 10.00 AM at SSR Hall.

The session was delivered by Dr. Savitri Vasudevan, PhD (Ayurveda), as the Guest Speaker. The programme highlighted the role of Ayurveda in preventive cardiology and promoting cardiovascular health through preventive and holistic approaches.

As part of the 11th National Ayurveda Day 2026 celebrations, Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College & Research Centre, West Tambaram, Chennai, organized an expert guest lecture on 17 September 2026 at 2:00 PM in VRR Hall.

The session was delivered by Mr. D.R. Kumble, Zonal Training Manager, Charak Pharma Pvt. Ltd., who shared valuable insights on professional development, effective communication, and the evolving role of Ayurveda in healthcare.

The programme was conducted under the theme “Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow,” with enthusiastic participation from faculty members, interns, and students. The session served as an enriching learning experience, inspiring participants to strengthen their professional and academic growth while upholding the values of Ayurveda.

Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College & Hospital (SSAMC) Conducts Medical Camp and Seminar at Samskrita Bharathi & Central Institute of Classical Tamil.

Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College & Hospital (SSAMC) participated in the seminar jointly organized by Samskrita Bharathi and the Central Institute of Classical Tamil at Meenakshi College on 28 August 2026.
As part of the event, SSAMC organized a free Ayurvedic Medical Camp from 28 to 30 August 2026, offering health consultations and creating awareness about the benefits of Ayurveda among the seminar participants and the public.
The three-day medical camp reflected SSAMC’s commitment to community healthcare and its continuous efforts to promote Ayurvedic wellness through outreach initiatives.

National Nutrition Week Celebration at Poonthandalam Anganwadi

As part of the 11th Ayurveda Day Celebrations, Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College & Hospital observed National Nutrition Week at Poonthandalam Anganwadi on 07 September 2026.

The programme aimed to create awareness about the importance of balanced nutrition and healthy dietary practices among children, parents, and the local community. Students of the institution presented an engaging awareness skit highlighting the significance of nutritious food and healthy lifestyle habits from an Ayurvedic perspective.

As part of the outreach initiative, nutritious food kits were distributed to the beneficiaries, reinforcing the message of promoting health through proper nutrition.

The programme reflected the institution’s commitment to community health promotion and the spirit of the 11th Ayurveda Day theme, encouraging healthier lives through Ayurveda and nutrition awareness.

The Department of Samhita Siddhanta and Sanskrit Club of Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College and Research Centre successfully celebrated Sanskrit Day (Sanskrita Divas) and Acharya Charaka Jayanti Mahotsav on 18th August 2026.

The event was organized to commemorate the rich heritage of Sanskrit and honor the invaluable contributions of Acharya Charaka, the pioneer of Ayurveda. The celebration highlighted the significance of Sanskrit as the foundation of Ayurvedic knowledge while inspiring students to appreciate classical Ayurvedic literature and its relevance in contemporary practice.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. P. A. Sudhir, Principal, with the support of the Department of Samhita Siddhanta and Sanskrit Club coordinators, making the event a meaningful tribute to India’s timeless knowledge tradition.

otaract Club Inauguration Ceremony Held at Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College and Research Centre

The Rotaract Club of Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College and Research Centre, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Madras Mid-Town, Rotary International District 3233, successfully conducted its Inauguration Ceremony on 18th August 2026 at SSR Hall, Sri Sairam Campus, West Tambaram.

The ceremony was graced by Rtr. Varindar Bobby Singh, District Rotaract Committee Chairman (2026–27), as the Chief Guest. Rtr. PP PHF Harivignesh, District Rotaract Representative, attended as the Special Invitee, while Rtn. Ravi Venkatraman, District Director – Community Service, served as the Guest of Honor.

During the ceremony, the newly elected office bearers for the academic year 2026–27 were officially introduced and felicitated. Rtr. Anantha Krishnan G N assumed office as the President, and Rtr. Sakthi Ganesh P took charge as the Secretary of the Rotaract Club.

The inauguration marked the beginning of a new chapter of leadership and community service, encouraging students to actively participate in Rotary’s mission of creating lasting impact through service, fellowship, and professional development.

Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College & Research Centre, Chennai, organised a special guest lecture to commemorate World Breastfeeding Week on Friday, 7 August 2026, at 11:00 AM at VRR Hall.

The session featured Dr. A. Safiyathus Saliha, BAMS, IBCLC, ACLP, MYICAN, IYCF Counsellor and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), as the Guest Speaker. She is an Ayurvedic Physician, Childbirth Educator and Maternal & Child Health Professional, and an alumnus of Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College & Research Centre.

The programme focused on creating awareness about the importance of breastfeeding and promoting evidence-based practices for maternal and child health.
