Health Awareness Session at Sri Sairam Engineering College

On 22nd August 2025, Dr. Suraj, Lecturer, Department of Swasthavritta, Sri Sairam Ayurvedic Medical College & Research Centre, delivered an insightful speech on Health Awareness during the Induction Program for freshers at Sigma Hall, Sri Sairam Engineering College.

The session emphasized the importance of adopting healthy lifestyle practices and motivated the students to integrate wellness into their academic journey.

Food Expo by Department of Rasa Shastra

On 21st August 2025, the Department of Rasa Shastra, Sri Sairam Ayurvedic Medical College & Research Centre, organized a Food Expo showcasing the significance of traditional foo9d practices and their role in promoting holistic health.

In this event, students actively participated by setting up food counters, offering dishes to all and explaining the nutritional, medicinal, and cultural importance of each preparation. Their enthusiastic involvement made the expo both educational and interactive, creating awareness about the vital link between food and well-being.

Workshop on Prototype / Process Design and Development 3rd Quarter IIC Event – 2024-2025

Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College & Research Centre, West Tambaram, Chennai, conducted a Workshop on Prototype / Process Design and Development on 13th August 2025 at the Sairam Incubation Centre.

The Chief Guest, Mr. Dhanush Moorthy R, Junior R&D Engineer, Sri Sairam Techno Incubator Foundation, shared his expertise on various aspects of product development, including ideation, design principles, prototyping methods, and process optimization.

The event provided participants with a hands-on understanding of innovation workflows, fostering creativity and technical skills essential for entrepreneurship and research.

Innovation to Global Recognition –  06-08-2025

The Institutional Innovation Council (IIC) of Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College and Research Centre organised a session on “Innovation to Global Recognition: Filing Patents in India & Beyond” on 6th August 2025 at the Sairam Incubation Centre from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. The resource person, Dr. G. Puthilibai, Professor of Chemistry and IPR Cell Captain at Sri Sairam Engineering College, shared valuable insights into the process of patent filing in India and internationally. The session highlighted the importance of protecting intellectual property, navigating patent laws, and leveraging innovations for global recognition.

First Aid Training for School Student

Dr. Krithika from Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College & Research Centre conducted a series of First Aid Training sessions at Sairam Schools in Tambaram, Madipakkam, and Medavakkam from 4th to 7th August 2025. The program aimed to educate students on essential life-saving techniques, empowering them to respond effectively during medical emergencies.

CME on World Organ Donation Day

On the occasion of World Organ Donation Day, Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College & Research Centre organized a CME program on 12th August 2025 at VRR Hall to raise awareness about the importance of organ donation.

The awareness talks were delivered by Mr. Ganesh C, Senior Project Executive, and Ms. Sangeetha K, Project Executive, from the Mohan Foundation. The speakers highlighted the life-saving potential of organ donation, dispelled common myths, and encouraged participants to pledge their support for this noble cause

First Aid Training Program at Sairam Vidyalaya, Pondicherry – 04-08-2025

As part of the institution’s outreach and health education initiatives, Dr. Arun from Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College and Research Centre conducted a First Aid Training Program at Sairam Vidyalaya, Pondicherry on 4th August 2025.

The session focused on educating school students about essential life-saving techniques, including basic first aid, emergency response, and immediate care practices for common injuries and health emergencies. The interactive training enhanced awareness and preparedness among the students, equipping them with practical skills to respond during emergencies.

This program reflects the college’s ongoing commitment to promoting health literacy and community empowerment through preventive and practical health education.

World Breastfeeding Week Celebration – 05-08-2025

As part of World Breastfeeding Week 2025, Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College and Research Centre organized an awareness initiative at PHC Somangalam on 5th August 2025.

The program focused on promoting the importance of breastfeeding and supporting lactating mothers with Ayurvedic care. Awareness pamphlets highlighting the benefits of breastfeeding and infant nutrition were distributed. Additionally, Ayurvedic galactagogue granules sponsored by Zandu Pharmaceuticals were provided to 60 lactating mothers to support healthy lactation.

This initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to maternal and child health, and the integration of Ayurveda in public health outreach.

Student Participation in Leprosy Case Detection Campaign (LCDC) – 4th & 5th-08-2025

Students of our college actively participated in the Leprosy Case Detection Campaign (LCDC) survey held on 4th and 5th August 2025. The program was conducted in association with the Health Inspectors of Kundrathur Block, following a request from the District Health Department – Kanchipuram.

As part of this public health initiative, students joined field teams in conducting door-to-door surveys to help identify suspected leprosy cases and promote awareness in the community. Their participation not only contributed to disease surveillance efforts but also strengthened their exposure to community healthcare practices.

Free Spectacle Distribution Program On 01-08-2025

As a follow-up to the Free Eye Screening Camp held on 26th July 2025, Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College and Research Centre, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Madras Midtown and Chettinad Hospital, organized a Free Spectacle Distribution Program on 01 August 2025.

A total of 41 beneficiaries who were identified during the screening camp received free spectacles, ensuring improved vision and enhanced quality of life.
