Prasuti and Stree Rogam (Obstetrics and Gynecology)

Prasooti tantra deals with the obstetrics and stree roga deals with the gynaecological disorders.

Various treatment procedure for women following delivery has been detaily described in shastras.

Monthwise development of foetus has been explained. Antenatal care and post natal care of women has been elaborated in ayurvedic way. Stree roga deals with the various gynaecological disorders and their treatments.

The department also performs various ayurvedic procedures like uttara basti (vaginal, intrauterine, intravesicle), kshara karma, yoni prakshalan, pichu, anuvasan basti, pottali etc. To female patients as a part of treatment.

Literally, gada means a disease and agada means any agent which makes the body free from disease

However the term agada is used specifically for the branch of medicine dealing with toxicology, the description of the different types of poisons, and their antidotes.
Agada tantra ,the section of toxicology that deals with food poisoning, snake bites, dog bites, insect bites, etc.

Vyavahara ayurveda explores about the medicolegal studies, medical jurisprudence, autopsy findings, postmortem reports, Visits to snake parks, forensic laboratories are being arranged for the clinical training.
