Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College & Research Centre organized the 1st IIC Event (2025–2026) – IPR Programme titled “Session on Basics of Intellectual Property Rights for Innovators and Entrepreneurs” on 23rd February 2026 (Monday) from 10.00 AM to 01.00 PM at VRR Hall.
The session was conducted under the aegis of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) with the objective of creating awareness among students and faculty members about the importance of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), patent filing procedures, and the protection of innovative ideas in the field of healthcare and entrepreneurship.
The programme was graced by Chief Guest C. Naveen Andrew, Joint Controller of Patents & Designs, Patent Office, IPR Building, Guindy, Chennai. He delivered an insightful lecture on the fundamentals of patents, copyrights, trademarks, and design registration, emphasizing the need for innovators and young entrepreneurs to safeguard their intellectual assets.
The session witnessed active participation from students, interns, and faculty members, who engaged in interactive discussions and clarified their queries regarding patent application procedures and commercialization strategies.
The programme successfully strengthened awareness about innovation, research ethics, and intellectual property protection among budding healthcare professionals.
