CME Organized by the Department of Kayachikitsa – 27th November 2025

The Department of Kayachikitsa organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on 27th November 2025 at SSR Hall. The session was delivered by Dr. Keerthana S, who presented an in-depth and clinically oriented lecture focusing primarily on Rheumatoid Arthritis.

The session covered the Ayurvedic understanding of Amavata, contemporary clinical correlations, diagnostic approaches, and evidence-based treatment protocols, offering valuable insights for both student doctors and faculty members.

The CME aimed to enhance clinical competence, encourage integrative thinking, and strengthen the application of Kayachikitsa principles in managing chronic inflammatory disorders. The programme witnessed active participation from students, interns, and faculty, contributing to a rich academic environment.

This initiative reflects our institution’s continuous efforts toward advancing academic excellence and promoting updated clinical knowledge in Ayurveda.

Free Piles Camp Conducted on World Piles Day – 20th November

On the occasion of World Piles Day, our college organized a Free Piles Screening and Consultation Camp on 20th November at Nanganallur. The event aimed to raise awareness on anorectal health, ensure early detection of piles, and provide authentic Ayurvedic and para-surgical management options to the public.

As part of the pre-camp activities, on 19th November, our students actively conducted canvassing in and around nearby localities to promote the camp and encourage community participation. Their dedicated efforts played a vital role in achieving an excellent turnout.

During the camp, participants received free consultation, screening, and guidance on treatment modalities such as Ksharasutra, diet and lifestyle modification, and preventive care. The program highlighted our institution’s commitment to community health and advancing integrative Ayurvedic proctology.

Industrial Visit to IMPCOPS

The second-year senior students of Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College and Research Centre visited IMPCOPS (The Indian Medical Practitioners Co-operative Pharmacy and Stores) on 24.10.2025 as part of their academic curriculum. The visit was coordinated by the Department of Rasa Shastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana.

The visit provided the students with valuable practical exposure to large-scale manufacturing processes of Ayurvedic, Siddha, and Unani medicines. It offered deeper insights into the standardization, quality control, and pharmaceutical procedures practiced in traditional medicine industries.

This industrial visit served as an enriching and informative experience, effectively bridging classroom learning with real-world pharmaceutical applications.

CME on Diabetic Foot Management – World Diabetes Day

On the occasion of World Diabetes Day, a Continuing Medical Education (CME) program on “Diabetic Foot Management” was organized by the Department of Shalya Tantra, Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College and Research Centre, on 14th November 2025.

The expert session was delivered by Dr. M. Suresh Kumar, M.S., FIAGES, a renowned General and Laparoscopic Surgeon, who shared his extensive clinical experience on the early identification, prevention, and management of diabetic foot complications.

The CME provided valuable insights into interdisciplinary approaches for diabetic foot care, highlighting the importance of timely intervention to prevent morbidity. Faculty members and students actively participated in the session, making it an enriching and informative academic event.

The program emphasized the role of collaborative healthcare practices in managing diabetes-related complications and contributed to strengthening clinical understanding among the attendees.

Diabetes & Dental Check-Up Camp on World Diabetes Day

On the occasion of World Diabetes Day, a Diabetes and Dental Check-Up Camp was organized by Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College and Research Centre on 14th November 2025.

The camp focused on creating awareness about diabetes, its risk factors, preventive measures, and the importance of oral health in diabetic patients. Participants received free blood sugar screening, dental evaluation, counselling, and lifestyle guidance from experienced healthcare professionals.

This initiative reflected the institution’s commitment to community health, emphasizing early diagnosis, prevention, and integrated healthcare approaches for diabetes management. The camp witnessed active participation from the public, making the event highly impactful and beneficial.

CME on Application of Basic Principles in Clinical Practice

A Continuing Medical Education (CME) program on “Application of Basic Principles in Clinical Practice” was organized by the Department of Samhita Siddhanta, Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College and Research Centre, on 29.10.2025.

The session was delivered by Dr. Bhuvaneshwari, Associate Professor, Department of Samhita Siddhanta, Nandha Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital. She elaborated on the relevance and practical application of Ayurvedic fundamental principles in day-to-day clinical practice, providing valuable insights to the participants.

Faculty members and students actively participated in the CME, making it an engaging and intellectually enriching session that emphasized the importance of foundational Ayurvedic concepts in modern healthcare practice.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month – Free Mammogram Checkup Camp

As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College and Research Centre, West Tambaram, Chennai, organized a Free Mammogram Checkup Camp on 30.10.2025 (Thursday) from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Sri Leo Muthu Indoor Stadium.

The event was organized in association with the Rotary Club of Madras Mid-Town, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Lions Club International, and Sairam District Scouts – Scouts for SDGs.

The initiative aimed to raise awareness about breast cancer and provide an opportunity for women to receive free screening, consultation, and treatment advice from experienced doctors. The camp highlighted the importance of early detection and preventive healthcare in combating breast cancer.

The program was graced by Dr. P.A. Sudhir, Principal, and Dr. Sai Prakash LeoMuthu, Chairman & CEO, whose continued support and guidance made the event a success.

Hearty congratulations to Dr. Ashok and Dr. Kothainayagi for representing Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College and Research Centre at the International Symposium on Ayurveda, Siddha, and Unani held in Sri Lanka on 17/10/25 & 18/10/25.

A Continuing Medical 0Education (CME) program on “Career Opportunities in Aesthetic Medicine” was organized by Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College and Research Centre on 29.10.2025. The session was conducted by the expert team from Dr. Edumed, who shared valuable insights into the expanding field of aesthetic medicine and the diverse career prospects it offers.
