On 23rd January 2025, Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College and Research Centre’s Institutional Innovation Council hosted an engaging Hackathon Orientation Program as part of Sai Med Hackathon 2.0, celebrating National Youth Day. Held at ALPHA Hall, Sri Sairam Institutions, Chennai, the session focused on cutting-edge topics such as Regenerative Medicine and Tissue Engineering, Biomarker Discovery for Cancer Diagnostics, and Stem Cell-Based Models for Disease Modelling. Dr. Satish Ramalingam, Associate Professor, Department of Genetic Engineering at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, served as the resource person, sharing valuable insights into advancements in genetic engineering and biomedical research, inspiring participants to delve into these transformative fields.

The Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College and Research Centre will host its annual Pongal celebration on 11th January 2025 with great enthusiasm and traditional fervor. The event promises to be a vibrant showcase of cultural heritage, featuring traditional rituals, festive decorations, and engaging activities. Students, faculty, and staff will come together to celebrate the spirit of Pongal, embracing the joy of unity and gratitude. The celebration aims to honor the harvest festival, highlighting the importance of nature, agriculture, and cultural values in our lives.

On 10th January 2025, the Institutional Innovation Council of Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College and Research Centre organized an Orientation on Hackathon. The session featured Dr. T. Jayasree, Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) in the Department of ECE, College of Engineering, Anna University, who delivered a lecture on “Biomedical Instrumentation: The Role of Technology in Healthcare,” focusing on technological advancements in diagnostics and treatment. Additionally, Dr. G. Geetha, Women Scientist (KIRAN IPR) and Deputy Director of the Centre for Intellectual Property Rights, along with Associate Professor in the Department of IST, Anna University, presented on “Patents and Innovation Strategies in Healthcare Technology,” highlighting the crucial role of intellectual property in driving innovation in healthcare. The session encouraged participants to explore the intersection of technology, innovation, and intellectual property as they prepare for upcoming hackathons..

Our faculty, Dr. Krithika Narayana, delivered an expert talk at Saveetha Medical College and Hospital, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences – Office of International Affairs, on 31st December 2024 as part of their Faculty Development Program. The session was focused on the topic, “Ahara: The Foundation of Health – An Ayurvedic Perspective on Personalized Nutrition and Disease Prevention.”

Dr. Krithika Narayana shared her extensive knowledge on the Ayurvedic approach to nutrition, emphasizing how personalized dietary practices play a crucial role in maintaining health and preventing diseases. Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College and Research Centre’s Institutional Innovation Council (IIC) successfully organized an internal hackathon for the Navapravarthan Idea Hackathon by AIIA on 30th December 2024. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 15 teams, showcasing innovative solutions and creative thinking. The top three ideas were selected, highlighting the exceptional talent and ingenuity of the participants. This initiative reaffirms the institution’s commitment to nurturing innovation and excellence.

Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College and Research Centre’s Institutional Innovation Council (IIC) successfully conducted its 2nd Quarter Meeting on 30th December 2024. The meeting reviewed the events and activities of the 1st quarter, planned innovative programs for the 2nd quarter, and finalized changes in council membership effective from January 2025. This strategic session reaffirmed the council’s commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurial growth.

A CME (Continuing Medical Education) session on the Significance of Research in Healthcare – Transforming Knowledge into Innovative Outcomes was held on 27th December 2024 at the SSR Hall in Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, in association with Saveetha Medical College.

The event featured an insightful talk by Dr. Rekha Thiruvengadam, Professor at the Centre for Global Healthcare Research, Saveetha Medical College and Hospital, Saveetha University, Chennai. A CME (Continuing Medical Education) session on Skin Diseases was held on 27th December 2024 at Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College and Research Centre, in association with Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala. During the event, Dr. Jithesh M.K. delivered an expert talk, sharing his extensive knowledge and insights on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of various skin conditions through Ayurvedic principles and therapies. The session provided valuable learning for attendees, enhancing their understanding of Ayurvedic approaches to skin health.
