Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College and Research Centre’s Institutional Innovation Council (IIC) successfully organized an outreach program on 27th February 2025 at Zion Matriculation Higher Secondary School, East Tambaram, Selaiyur, Chennai.

This initiative aimed to foster innovation and creativity among school students by engaging Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL) and the School Innovation Council (SIC). Through interactive sessions, students were introduced to problem-solving techniques, design thinking, and the significance of innovation in various fields.

On 17th February 2025, 50 students from Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College and Research Centre’s Institutional Innovation Council visited Sri Ramachandra Innovation and Incubation Center. The visit provided insights into the latest advancements in healthcare innovation, entrepreneurship, and incubation support for startups in the medical field.

Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College & Hospital, in collaboration with ACS Medical College, successfully conducted a two-day Mammogram Check-up Camp on 13th and 14th February 2025. This initiative was aimed at promoting early detection and awareness of breast health among women, ensuring timely diagnosis and preventive care.

Highlights of the Camp:

• Free Mammogram Screening: Women from various age groups availed the opportunity for early breast cancer detection.
• Expert Consultation: Senior radiologists and healthcare professionals from ACS Medical College provided expert evaluations and guidance.
• Awareness Sessions: Informative sessions were conducted on breast health, self-examination techniques, and lifestyle modifications for prevention.
• Large Beneficiary Turnout: A significant number of women benefited from this initiative, reinforcing the importance of proactive healthcare.

The camp emphasized the critical role of early screening in breast cancer prevention and treatment. By providing free access to mammogram screenings, we took a step towards empowering women with the knowledge and resources needed to prioritize their health.

Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital successfully organized a Cancer Awareness Walkathon on 12th February 2025 to spread awareness about cancer prevention, early detection, and holistic healing approaches. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from our students, faculty, and staff, who actively engaged in educating the public about the importance of a healthy lifestyle in cancer prevention.

The walkathon commenced from our college premises and covered key locations, ensuring maximum public reach. Holding banners, placards, and informative pamphlets, our participants conveyed vital messages on cancer awareness, emphasizing the significance of early screening, dietary modifications, and the role of Ayurveda in cancer management.

The initiative was well-received by the community, with many individuals showing interest in understanding preventive healthcare and holistic treatments. Our students, as future Ayurvedic physicians, took this opportunity to interact with the public, addressing their queries and explaining the impact of lifestyle changes on overall well-being.

On February 10, 2025, Himalaya Wellness Company honored top-performing students of Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College & Hospital with cash awards and provided starter kits to all interns. This initiative supports academic excellence and equips future Ayurvedic professionals with essential resources for their clinical training. The college expresses gratitude to Himalaya Wellness for their commitment to nurturing the next generation of Ayurvedic healers.

Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College & Research Centre’s Institutional Innovation Council successfully conducted its IInd Quarter IIC Event for 2024-25, a workshop on “Design Thinking, Critical Thinking, and Innovation,” led by Dr. C.R. Rene Robin, Dean of Innovation, Sri Sairam Institutions on 10/2/25. The workshop provided participants with valuable insights into innovative problem-solving approaches, fostering creativity and critical thinking to drive impactful solutions.

Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College & Research Centre’s Institutional Innovation Council successfully organized IInd Quarter IIC Event for 2024-25, a workshop on “Effective Sales and Marketing Strategies for Entrepreneurs/Startups,” on 7th February 2025. Dr. K. Maran, Professor and Director, Sri Sairam Institute of Management Studies, Chennai, delivered insightful strategies and practical knowledge to empower budding entrepreneurs and startups in enhancing their sales and marketing capabilities.

Sairam institutions had the privilege of participating in Global Development village at Bharath Scouts and Guides Diamond jubliee and Muthamizh arignar Kalaignar centenary special Jamboree in Trichy. Sairam Medical College is proud to be a part of the Global Development Village- Jamboree in Trichy.

The village was Inaugurated on January 28, 2025, by the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Shri Udhayanidhi Stalin, in the presence of the Hon’ble Education Minister, Mr. Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi; Shri K.N. Nehru, Minister for Municipal Administration, Urban and Water Supply of Tamil Nadu; and Shri Ma. Subramaniam, Health Minister of Tamil Nadu. The event showcased innovative ideas aimed at global progress.

The Global Development Village features pavilions dedicated to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and various Scouts initiatives, fostering awareness and action for a better world.

The distinguished guests commended the Sairam Medical College Team for curating an inspiring and impactful experience, reinforcing our commitment to education, sustainability, and social responsibility. Sairam remains dedicated to fostering growth and driving meaningful change for a better future.

On 23rd January 2025, Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College and Research Centre’s Institutional Innovation Council hosted an engaging Hackathon Orientation Program as part of Sai Med Hackathon 2.0, celebrating National Youth Day. Held at ALPHA Hall, Sri Sairam Institutions, Chennai, the session focused on cutting-edge topics such as Regenerative Medicine and Tissue Engineering, Biomarker Discovery for Cancer Diagnostics, and Stem Cell-Based Models for Disease Modelling. Dr. Satish Ramalingam, Associate Professor, Department of Genetic Engineering at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, served as the resource person, sharing valuable insights into advancements in genetic engineering and biomedical research, inspiring participants to delve into these transformative fields.
