Panchakarma (Therapeutic Procedural Management)

Pancha means five and karma means therapy. This branch of medicine deals with five therapeutic procedures such as emesis, purgation, medicated enema, nasal errhines and blood letting for removing toxins from the body.
Preparatory procedures like oleation and sudation are done prior to the main therapy considering the patient status. Post therapeutically dietic patterns are decided depending upon the purification.all these procedures are followed according to the concepts described in ayurvedic texts and that are gained through clinical experiences of our physicians.

Shalakya Tantra (Ophthalmology, Oto-RhinoLaryngology & Oro-Dentistry)

Shalakyam is a branch that deals with the diseases of parts of body above clavicle (collar bone) like diseases of eye, ear, nose, throat, teeth, gum, head, pharynx, larynx, lips and oral cavity

Departments of opthalmology, dentistry, otorhinolaryngology and ayurvedic cosmetology and tricology are included in this department. Ayurvedic procedures such as nasal errhines, filling of oil in ears, fumigation, application of collyrium, dhara (pouring of oil on head), gargling with medicated fluids, application of alkalis are conducted regularly in our campus.

Routine camps (theen raksha) are conducted for screening throat, eyes, ears, oral cavity, nose and head and due treatment is given for promoting health in schools, colleges and public levels.

Shalya Tantra (General Surgery)

Shalyam means foreign body. Extraction of various foreign materials like pus, metals, nails, hairs, dead fetus etc., using sharp and blunt instruments is discussed in this branch. Acharya susrutha, father of surgery, who has practiced various surgical procedures in ancient time. Peculiar techniques, one of which is 60 treatment procedures for vrana (injury) describes the importance of susrutha in shalya tantram. Anesthesiology (sangnyaharanam) is also a part of ancient surgery. Treatment of fistula, hemmorhoids and fissure are effectively practiced in our campus. Hirudotherapy (leech therapy) is done in case of chronic ulcers, eczema, diabetic wounds in our campus.

Prasuti and Stree Rogam (Obstetrics and Gynecology)

Prasooti tantra deals with the obstetrics and stree roga deals with the gynaecological disorders.

Various treatment procedure for women following delivery has been detaily described in shastras.

Monthwise development of foetus has been explained. Antenatal care and post natal care of women has been elaborated in ayurvedic way. Stree roga deals with the various gynaecological disorders and their treatments.

The department also performs various ayurvedic procedures like uttara basti (vaginal, intrauterine, intravesicle), kshara karma, yoni prakshalan, pichu, anuvasan basti, pottali etc. To female patients as a part of treatment.

Agada Tantram Evam Vyavahara Ayurveda (Clinical Toxicology and Medical Jurisprudence)

Literally, gada means a disease and agada means any agent which makes the body free from disease

However the term agada is used specifically for the branch of medicine dealing with toxicology, the description of the different types of poisons, and their antidotes.
Agada tantra ,the section of toxicology that deals with food poisoning, snake bites, dog bites, insect bites, etc.

Vyavahara ayurveda explores about the medicolegal studies, medical jurisprudence, autopsy findings, postmortem reports, Visits to snake parks, forensic laboratories are being arranged for the clinical training.

Swasthavritta (Lifestyle Management, Public Health and yoga)

For promotion of health and prevention of disease, this department plays an important role. It portraiys about daily regimens, seasonal regimens, cleanliness, code of conduct, diet, exercise, pranayama for disease free life.

The department has wide spaced yoga hall with individual yoga mats for students for practicing.yoga classes are conducted in daily basis for both patients and students.
The department is equipped with variety of models, specimens and charts.

Nature healing is also a part of this department. Spiritual health is obtained by creating awareness for better health by organizing camps and yoga programmes.

This department holds the previlage of conducting departmental activities like community health camps, health survey in village areas for promotion of health of the society under swasthya rakshana (adopting villages to promote rural health)
