Routine camps (theen raksha) are conducted for screening throat, eyes, ears, oral cavity, nose and head and due treatment is given for promoting health in schools, colleges and public levels.
Shalyam means foreign body. Extraction of various foreign materials like pus, metals, nails, hairs, dead fetus etc., using sharp and blunt instruments is discussed in this branch. Acharya susrutha, father of surgery, who has practiced various surgical procedures in ancient time.
