This department prioritizes the flora and fauna of ayurveda.it bestows the ayurvedic aspects like guna, karma, veerya, vipaka, prabhava of the dravya. also deals with pharmacognosy, pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, and cross-sectional study of herbal drugs.
We have a herbal museum holding about 250 herbarium collected by the students in their study tour

This flashes the light on the origin of ayurveda, its history, philosophy through context of brihatrayee like caraka samhitha, susrutha samhitha, and astanga hrdhayam and other allied contexts like laghutrayee and upanishads.

This department emphasises on the physiological formation and functions of human body. Beyond physical terms in human body, it also deals with other functional criteria such as atma, manas, prakrithi etc. It spotlights the basic element of the body such as dosha, dhatus, malas, srotas, etc…students are clinically trained for various physiological investigations.
A well equipped physiology laboratory with high professional standards of the lab’s facilities, equipment, procedures and staffing is functioning in our campus.
This department is engaged in the anatomical study of human body, practical dissection of cadavers, demonstrations through charts and models. Rachana shareeram also deals with marma vignyanam (vital points in the human body), srotas (channels in human body) and stagewise development of human body from birth to death.
A highly modernised anatomy museum with specimens, models, and charts and dissection hall with cadavers is established in our campus.
Online registration is mandatory for admission.
Admissions are done on merit basis, as per the rules and regulations of Tamilnadu state government.
Eligibility certificate from dr. Mgr medical university is mandatory for candidates other than Tamilnadu state board quota.
Candidate must have opted for biology group in 12th grade.

The Institution Offers BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) Of 5 ½ years duration including 1 year Compulsory Internship.
Ayurveda is the oldest science of medicine which emphasizes greatly on prevention rather than cure. It is said to be the Upaveda of Atharvaveda, due to this fact this system of medicine possess a unique feature of being holistic, eternal, and practical. Ayurveda has its origin from the Vedas and flowing through the great classics called samhithas of great Acharyas of Ayurveda as Charaka, Susrutha and Vaghbatta. This system has its nucleus in the theory of panchamahabootas – the basic five elements of the nature and the three humors of the body -vata, pitta and kapha in relation to the humans and the materials which he uses to live. Ayurvedic medicine has spectrum of therapies including treatment both internally and externally. Ayurveda is based on purification of body in natural way and the environment created removes all toxins and helps to regain natural tolerance and resistance toward disease.it helps to rejenuvate your body and regain your health. Ayurveda focuses mainly on lifestyle changes, diet patterns, yoga and pranayama for maintaining healthy life span. Evidences from text and vedas reveal the history of surgeries such as rhinoplasty, suturing, extracting foreign bodies, kidney stone removal etc. therefore the Ayurveda Vaidya Acharya Susrutha is considered as the Father of Surgery.
