Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College and Research Centre, Chennai celebrated 5th International Yoga Day on 21-06-2019 at the college Leo Muthu Indoor Stadium. All the students and faculties of college attended the program. At the out set , a Live demo of Common Yoga Practice by the experts were done followed by Yoga practice by all participants. The Program started at 9.30 am & continued till 11.00 am. Dr. Rama-krishnamacharya, Principal presided & welcomed the gathering followed by addressing the gathering by the Chief Guest Dr. Vanitha Muralikumar, Director of Research, organized by Dr Ashok Kumar Asst. Professor. Ms. Harini and Mr. Prasannanathan demonstrated Yogasanas, Pranayama and other Yogic practices.

Ayurveda team headed by Dr. Ashok kumar, Dept of surgery conducted Hands on training on Ayurvedic Surgical Techniques on 14th & 15th of June 2019. India’s Top Most Surgeons

Dr.P. Hemantha kumar, Dr. Ramesh Bhat, Dr.Bhaskar Rao , Dr.M.D.P Raja , Dr.Sethukrishna Handled the Surgical Workshop. Dr.Sathya Narayana, Modern Medicine Surgeon is also a part of it. Participants were our college Teachers ,Students, other Ayurveda college students, Practitioners, Teachers & PG scholars from National Institute Of Siddha.

Total 12 surgeries were performed in two days and the participants were allowed inside Operation Theatre batchwise. There was a live relay of these surgeries from OT to SSR Hall to other students who participated as observers and interaction session was done with the surgeons. This was the first time in Tamilnadu among all AYUSH colleges such a Live Demonstration of Surgeries were shown.
